Our Safeguarding Policy
Cavernoma Alliance UK is committed to and has a duty to safeguard and promote the welfare of the children, young people and vulnerable adults who access our services or with whom we come into contact.
We are committed to building and embedding a culture that places transparency and sound safeguarding practice at the centre of all our activities. We continually strive to strengthen our ways of working to ensure everyone feels safe to raise any safeguarding concerns and are fully supported if this occurs.
In order to meet our safeguarding commitments we have a Safeguarding Policy that is reviewed annually by the Trustees. In compliance with our Safeguarding Policy we undertake DBS checks and regular safeguarding training.
Our Designated Safeguarding Lead is our Charity Manager, Helen Evans who is operationally responsible for safeguarding. She can be contacted on 07872 013522 or by email at helen@cavernoma.org.uk.
If you are concerned about a child or vulnerable adult and think there is a risk of abuse or neglect, please contact your local safeguarding agency. If you think a child or vulnerable adult is in immediate danger call the police on 999. If you are a child or young person with a concern, support is available from the Childline website or by calling 0800 1111.
If you have a concern about a member of the CAUK Team please get in touch and ask to speak with our Designated Safeguarding Lead (Helen Evans) or our Chair of Trustees who had responsibility for safeguarding (Heather Dunbar) heather@cavernoma.org.uk .
