New Peer-to-Peer Support Opportunity!

We’re looking for patients, family members or carers affected by cavernoma to join our peer-to-peer support scheme, “CaverBuddies”.
Our next CaverBuddy training will be held for members of CAUK via Zoom on May 19th at 2pm.
To join us, please register in advance

What is a CaverBuddy?
A CaverBuddy is a fully trained and vetted volunteer who offers confidential emotional & practical support for people who may be dealing with the direct and indirect effects of cavernoma.

What does a CaverBuddy do?
A CaverBuddy offers one-off or long term support virtually via telephone, email or text message. No face-to-face contact or travel required.

Why become a CaverBuddy?
This is a unique opportunity to help others in the cavernoma community who are looking for that extra bit of support from someone who really understands what they are going through. Using your experience of cavernoma to help others can be a mutually beneficial experience; a strong sense of purpose and fulfilment come with supporting others.

Who can become a CaverBuddy?
Anyone who is a member of CAUK can become a CaverBuddy! You do not need to have a cavernoma to become a CaverBuddy.
We welcome family, friends and carers of people affected by cavernoma to our programme.
No experience necessary.

What will I receive as a CaverBuddy?
FREE virtual training
FREE volunteer DBS Checks, with the added bonus of being able to use your CAUK DBS for other volunteering roles you may have!
